PostHog Slack app pricing

Beta pricing

The Slack app is in beta. Billing is usage-based through PostHog AI credits and may change as the product matures - check this page again before relying on a specific number for budgeting.

The PostHog Slack app doesn't have its own subscription. The agent that runs behind @PostHog mentions consumes PostHog AI credits for the LLM work it does - planning a task, editing files, reasoning about your data - so anything billable in Slack rolls up under your existing PostHog AI usage.

For credit mechanics, the free monthly tier, billing limits, and the live pricing calculator, see PostHog AI pricing.

What costs credits

Anything the agent does behind an @PostHog mention - drafting a PR, answering a data question with the PostHog MCP, summarizing a thread to spec a feature. The same per-token economics that apply to PostHog AI in the app apply here.

What's free

A lot of the Slack surface is just plumbing and stays free:

  • Subscriptions to insights and dashboards delivered to Slack channels (see subscriptions).
  • Event-driven Slack notifications sent via Data Pipeline destinations (see Slack destination).
  • Link unfurling for PostHog insight and dashboard URLs.
  • The @PostHog help, rules, and project commands themselves - no LLM call, no credits.

Tracking and controlling spend

Slack-driven credit usage shows up alongside in-app PostHog AI usage in billing overview and billing usage. Set a custom billing limit on PostHog AI to cap spend across both surfaces at once - there's no separate cap for the Slack app.
